TRIC: The Research Idea Challenge
Think. Identify. Innovate. Collaborate.
About TRIC
The Research Idea Challenge (TRIC) is an interactive, on-the-spot activity designed to encourage students to identify real-world problems, think critically, and develop innovative, research-informed strategies to address them.
The activity challenges participants to move from identifying a problem to proposing a feasible solution, with opportunities for presentation, recognition, mentorship, and future collaboration.
Through TRIC, participants will have the opportunity to:
Strengthen critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Translate real-world issues into actionable strategies.
Develop creativity, innovation, and presentation skills.
Receive feedback and explore mentorship opportunities.
Build pathways for future research, implementation, and collaboration.
Who Can Participate?
TRIC is proposed as a platform for undergraduate students across disciplines to engage in problem identification and solution development.
Mentorship and Collaboration
1. TRIC aims to encourage participants to take their ideas beyond the activity.
2. Opportunities for mentorship through the Bangalore Yeshwanthpur Campus (BYC) may be offered to help participants refine their proposals and explore possibilities for further development.
3. The initiative seeks to foster meaningful collaboration among students, faculty, and relevant stakeholders, enabling promising ideas to be developed further.
Format: On-the-spot activity
Important Information
The activity duration, team or individual participation format, submission format, and presentation time will be communicated by the organising committee.
International (Online) Session
Engage with student researchers from around the world through an international online session designed to foster cross-cultural perspectives, exchange research ideas, and encourage global academic collaboration.
This platform offers students an opportunity to share their research, learn from diverse viewpoints, and build connections with emerging researchers across countries.
